Fresh from seeing their La Liga<\/a> title hopes go up in smoke, Real Madrid could now seal Real Oviedo’s fate at the Bernabeu on Thursday, May 14.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los Blancos saw the Blaugrana retain the trophy with three games to spare after suffering a 2-0 defeat to their arch-rivals at the Camp Nou on May 10.<\/span><\/p>\n

Barca have now opened up an unassailable 14-point lead at the summit and Alvaro Arbeloa will look to end his tenure on a strong note, starting with the visit of the relegation-threatened Azules.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arbeloa has won just 10 of his 16 league matches at the helm and oversaw a poor run of from since the start of April, picking up eight points out of a possible 18.<\/span><\/p>\n

Arbeloa wants a response from his players and is determined to finish the campaign on a high after handing the title to Barca with their sixth defeat in 2025-26.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I will approach it with even more responsibility, knowing that our season ended today,” he said. “What we cannot do is let ourselves go, not even a little.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We have three games that we must go out and win. Here, we defend something that is much bigger than all of us and much bigger than our prestige, which is the badge of Real Madrid, representing millions of fans.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We need to show that we are truly hurt by playing three great games and achieving three great victories.”<\/span><\/p>\n
