PGA Tour Valero Texas Open
Oaks Course
Cibolo Canyons, Texas
April 2-5, 2026
As a previous winner of the Valero Texas Open, Jordan Spieth will once again look to do well on home soil at the Oaks Course beginning on Thursday.
What to know about Jordan Spieth
Spieth is no stranger to the tournament in Texas, he clinched the title in 2021 and was a runner-up in 2015. Adding to his familiarity with the showpiece, Spieth also has five Top-15 finishes at the event.
The 32-year-old turned professional in 2012 during his sophomore year in Texas. In July 2013, Spieth won the John Deere Classic two weeks before his 20th birthday following a sudden-death playoff against Zach Johnson and David Hearn.
In turn, Spieth became the fourth youngest PGA Tour winner and also, the first teenager to accomplish the feat since Ralph Guldahl in 1931.
Overall, Spieth has 13 wins on the PGA Tour including three on the European Tour. His most notable career victories are the 2015 Masters Tournament, 2015 US Open and the 2017 Open Championship.
Spieth’s last win on the PGA Tour came in 2022 when he claimed the RBC Heritage trophy in a playoff win over Patrick Cantlay.
What did he say
During a 13th place finish at the Valspar Championship earlier this month, Spieth spoke of his troubles on the course and lamented ‘bad decisions’ that led to him falling down the pecking order.
“I feel like the way I’m playing is I’m driving it, I think I’m driving it in the top 20, I think I’m striking it in the top 20, I think my short game’s in the top 20, I think my putting’s in the top 20,” Spieth said at the Valspar Championship.
I’ve made some bad decisions or hit some wrong tee shots at the wrong time or missed contact that has cost me from having a chance to win three or four times and finishing where I finish.
“So I’m extremely frustrated when I don’t get the most out of my round because I’m playing better than I’m scoring on a week like this week. That’s the frustrating part. But I would much rather be on that side of it than anywhere else.”
