Charles Leclerc will be hoping to close the gap to the Mercedes drivers at the top of the championship by winning the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Leclerc converted pole position into victory in front of a passionate crowd, marking his first win of the 2026 season.

Leclerc, who is competing in a Ferrari, sits fourth in the Drivers’ Championship with 108 points after nine races.
The 28-year-old trails championship leader Kimi Antonelli (179), George Russell (154) and Lewis Hamilton (147), while holding a healthy margin over the McLaren drivers.

Leclerc has an excellent record at Spa-Francorchamps, having finished third in the last three Belgian Grands Prix and winning the race in 2019.
The Monegasque has shown excellent one-lap pace this season and comes into this weekend full of confidence after his dominant victory at the 2026 British Grand Prix.

“I’m really proud of the work we have done as a team to get back on the top step of the podium. Coming to Silverstone, we didn’t expect to be this competitive,” Leclerc said after winning the 2026 British Grand Prix.
“We were much faster and closer to our competitors than we thought, and just as we analyse our data on challenging weekends, we also have to analyse our data on a strong weekend like this, to understand what really made that difference.
“We made some changes on my car between Saturday morning to the afternoon, and I got back the feeling I had been missing. This was confirmed in the race today and it just feels really good to take this win home for the team, after a tough few weekends,” he continued.
“Thank you to the whole team at the track and back home in Italy for their hard work and dedication. Let’s try to stay on this path to keep bringing home results like this together.”
