World no. 27 Jacob Bridgeman is one of eight players ranked inside the top 50 competing at the John Deere Classic from 2-5 July.
The American began making strides on the PGA Tour in 2025 after securing four top-10 finishes, including second place at the Cognizant Classic.
Bridgeman would claim his maiden Tour success in February this year at the Genesis Invitational, carding an 18-under 266 to beat Kurt Kitayama and Rory McIlroy by one stroke.
The 26-year-old has already matched last season’s feat of four top 10s by also achieving a T4 at the Sony Open in Hawaii, a T8 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and a T5 at the Players Championship.
Bridgeman made the cut in two of the three opening majors of 2026, with his best showing coming at the recent US Open when he placed T39.
The South Carolina native practices with two completely different putters, a blade and a spider, the latter which he uses in tournaments.
“I have two different putters made in completely different ways. My gamer is a spider, super big, very forgiving. I can toe it, heel it, bottom it – it pretty much goes all the same.” Bridgeman said.
“A blade putter is less forgiving. If I hit it a couple of millimeters off centre I’m going to feel that. I’m going to know it’s going to go probably a little bit different. It’s just a lot harder to putt with.
“I putted with a blade forever and when I turned pro I switched halfway through my rookie year. I was testing out putters and realised how easy it was to putt with something this big and more forgiving.
“I pulled it out at the 3M Open last year and just putted amazing and I’ve had it in my bag ever since.”
