Following a strong finish in the regular NBA Western Conference season, the San Antonio Spurs will hope to derail the dominant Oklahoma City Thunder once more when the two sides meet in the conference final on Tuesday.
The Spurs battled their way into the Western Conference final with a 4-2 series win over the Minnesota Timberwolves in the semi-finals.
In their most recent clash, the Spurs recorded a 139-109 victory over the Timberwolves in their game six semi-final tie at the Target Center this past Saturday.
Stephon Castle ended the game as the San Antonio side’s top scorer after recording an impressive 32-point tally in 30 minutes.

De’Aaron Fox was equally impressive, scoring 21 points in 24 minutes in Minneapolis. Star player Victor Wembanyama added a further 19 points to their overall tally while Julian Champagnie followed close behind with 18 points.
En-route to finishing second in the Western Conference regular campaign, the Spurs beat Thunder four-times this season, three of which were double-digit victories.
San Antonio Spurs will thus make their first Western Conference final appearance since 2017, when they beat the Oklahoma City Thunder in the semi-finals.
