As one of the teams to beat in the NBA this season, the San Antonio Spurs are in line to clinch the Western Conference semi-final series in Game six against the Minnesota Timberwolves this weekend.

Spurs currently lead the series 3-2 following their 126-97 win over the Timberwolves at the Frost Bank Center earlier this week, securing a dominant win in Game five.

In an aggressive display by Victor Wembanyama, the Spurs star ended the game with 27 points, while Keldon Johnson added 21 points in just 22 minutes of action.

Spurs are 36-16 in Western Conference games this season, finishing second in the table with an average of 47.0 rebounds per game.

While Wembanyama was ejected late in the game due to an elbow offense, Stephon Castle supported his teammate by claiming that a physical game is needed against the Timberwolves.

“If you’re not physical with them, they have a lot of guys that can score in isos and play one-on-one,” Castle said.

“In order to get stops and be able to contest, you have to be physical; just trying to play smart to see how the ref is calling it.”
