Lewis Hamilton will aim to continue his dominance at the Canadian Grand Prix by winning the race for the eighth time.

The Ferrari driver finished sixth in the Miami Grand Prix, scoring solid points but once again trailing his teammate Charles Leclerc and the dominant Mercedes duo.
Hamilton started well but lost positions after struggling with tyre degradation and balance in the second half of the race.
Formula One ambitions
The seven-time Formula One world champion sits fifth in the World Drivers’ Championship standings with 51 points after four races.
Hamilton trails teammate Charles Leclerc (third with 59 points) and the dominant Mercedes duo of Kimi Antonelli (100) and George Russell (80), as well as Lando Norris (also on 51).
Why Hamilton could shine in Montreal
Hamilton has a brilliant record in Canada with seven wins – the joint-most of any driver in history – and he has never finished outside the top five when he has completed the race here.
Ferrari is bringing big aerodynamic and engine upgrades this weekend, and the Briton is expected to change his preparation by skipping the simulator to get a better feel for the car on track.

“Today’s race was affected by what happened on the opening lap,” Hamilton said after the 2026 Miami GP.
“And with the damage I sustained, P7 was the best result we could achieve. Overall, it was a challenging weekend, but I believe we have a good car and there are some positives to take away.
“We just need to keep pushing, both at the factory and at the track, to keep adding performance and close the gap as we move forward.”
