2026 PGA Championship
PGA Tour
Aronimink Golf Club
Pennsylvania, Philadelphia
14-17 May 2026
World no. 11 Xander Schauffele is one of 15 former PGA Championship winners in the field for the second major of the year at Aronimink from 14-17 May.
The American won his first major when he carded a 21-under 263 to beat Bryson DeChambeau by one stroke in 2024.
Schauffele also went on to claim victory at the Open Championship later that same year, but has only added the 2025 Baycurrent Classic title to his name since then.
The 32-year-old didn’t make a great start to this season, missing the cut in his first event at the Farmers Insurance Open and finishing T41 at the Phoenix Open.
But Schauffele has found some consistency in the last two months, achieving three top 10s in a row at the Players Championship (3rd), the Valspar Championship (T4) and the Masters Tournament (T9).
He struggled at the Truist Championship, a signature event in the lead-up to the PGA Championship, shooting rounds of 69-73-72-72 to finish T60.
Schauffele spoke about areas of his game that he’s been working on ahead of the first round at Quail Hollow in the hope that everything comes together in time for the PGA Championship.
“I would say trying to stay on top of ball striking,” he said. “I don’t think I’ve putted very well and the short game’s been a little hit or miss depending upon which week it is.
“So like I said earlier, just sort of trying to find a way to get everything to kind of click at the same time. I think if I think of the stretches where we’ve got majors and then big Signature Events sort of scattered, all sort of stacked, I should say.
“They’re all very demanding properties, and they all demand pretty much every part of your game to be good if you want to win.
“So it really is, I think if you look at most guys out there, they’re just trying to work on everything, everything and anything they can to get as comfortable and confident as possible.”
