AC Milan’s push for UEFA Champions League qualification could be boosted even further when they face Juventus in their next Serie A assignment at the San Siro on Sunday.

As it stands, Milan are second on the log after noting 66 points from 33 matches, while they sit 12 points behind table toppers and arch enemies Inter Milan.

However, Milan previously claimed that UEFA Champions League qualification is foremost in their minds for this season as they hold a three-point gap to fourth-placed Juventus.

The Italian giants recorded a gritty 1-0 win against Verona during Matchday 33, a result that saw the club record two wins and three losses in their last five. Juventus are in better form at the moment with three consecutive wins, one draw and one victory in their last handful of Serie A matches.

Sitting in fourth position, Juve are likewise hoping for UCL qualification, as they sit five points clear of fifth placed Como.

With the Italian national team said to be interested in appointing Massimiliano Allegri, the Milan mentor addressed the reports earlier this week by pledging his immediate future to the club.

“Could a call from the national team make me waver? Well, there hasn’t been any call at the moment,” the Milan coach said.

“My focus is on Milan. We started a journey together and we will continue it together”.
